In dystopic times, after a law that prohibits laughter was approved, people live in an environment of fear and mistrust. The freedom to express any kind of joy in public no longer exists. As part of the resistance, a group of actors and scriptwriters decide to create a clandestine movement allowing people to laugh in secret. Everything else is noise.

The protagonist is supposed to go to a graduation reunion and, because she is ashamed to reveal that she is still lonely and unmarried, she makes up a story that her husband was a Swede who came to the Czech Republic for assembly and that he died suddenly. She tries to fend off the prying classmates with a photograph of her "husband" with his colleagues from a newspaper article, where she accidentally shows a man. What a surprise the classmates experience, and what consternation she herself experiences, when the freshly deceased man in question suddenly appears at the spa where the incriminated alumni reunion is being held! And not only is he alive, he even speaks Czech suspiciously well...

Engineer Lenoir futilely fends off journalists interested in his latest invention. It is not yet finished, but already foreign countries are interested in it, and even foreign secret services are getting their teeth into it. But Lenoir needs to finish his "death pill" in peace. So he hires the police to protect him. He plans to finish the job on the cruise yacht of a Kanuche factory worker, which the police prefect himself recommends as the perfect disguise. But the true purpose of the engineer's "trip" is overheard by a sensationalist reporter, Philippe Plafeau, who sneaks onto the boat disguised as a lifeguard. But he's not the only one. The other lifeguards are actually undercover police officers. Lenoir's new butler is also not who he says he is, nor is the suitor of Lenoir's daughter, Count Dubois...

Haruka Tada (Haru) has been working at the general trading company for 4 years and she is sent to Taiwan for work. When Haruka Tada was a university student, she visited Taiwan for the first time during the summer. During that time, she happened to meet young Taiwanese man Eric and he showed her Taiwan for a day. She lost contact with him after that and she could not find him again. She then sealed away her thoughts about him in her mind. 6 years later, Haruka Tada arrives in Taiwan again.
